The Vaccines haben heute ihre neue Single „Headphones Baby“ veröffentlicht, ein erster Vorgeschmack auf das kommende, fünfte Album der Band, das später in diesem Jahr erscheinen wird. Es ist der Nachfolger der 2018er-LP „Combat Sports“ und eine optimistische und zuversichtliche Rückkehr der Band aus Großbritannien.
„Headphones Baby“ wurde während der Album-Sessions in El Paso aufgenommen, bei denen The Vaccines wieder mit dem Produzenten Daniel Ledinsky zusammenkamen, der für seine Arbeit mit u.a. Rihanna und TV On The Radio bekannt ist.
Frontmann Justin Hayward-Young über die Single: „Sometimes life can leave you feeling numb and desperate to feel something. ‘Headphones Baby’ is about creating an escape from that – plugging in to plug out and cocooning yourself from the reality of the outside world in the warm embrace If somebody else’s mind.
