Christine And The Queens hat heute ihr zweites Album „Chris“ für den 21. September angekündigt. Dazu gibt es ab heute auch die zweite Single der LP, „Doesn’t Matter“, zu hören. „It’s a crisis song that I wrote late one night“, erklärt Christine alias Heloise Letissier. „This song is a cathedral, with a rhythm as unalterable as white stone. The bass line, I remember playing it for hours, as if to rock myself“.
„Chris” ist der Nachfolger des Debüts „Chaleur Humaine“, das 2014 in Frankreich und 2016 in Großbritannien veröffentlicht wurde und seitdem mehr als 1,3 Millionen Mal verkauft wurde.
Christine sagt dazu: „’Chaleur Humaine’ was about teenage years, most of it. Loneliness, really true feelings, and there is a softness in the way I wrote as well, because I was properly introducing myself“. “Chris” dagegen setzt an einer ganz anderen Stelle an: „It gets to be a bit more exhilarating, because I get to say, okay, I’ve been introduced now. I get to be more confident, and it matches what happened in my life as a woman.“
